Staking Your Claim to Abundant Health and Happiness

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?”

Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

Are you ready to claim your birthright? Are you really ready to start living a life of abundant health and happiness? Really? Are you convinced that this is indeed your right and not just something you have to work really hard at, that only a few lucky individuals ever achieve, or something that isn’t even humanly possible? This is the absolute truth of existence and you are not living your life in this manner only because you have accepted the illusion that these things are not possible or out of your reach.

I am here to tell you that not only are they within your reach but you already possess everything you need to make it a reality! You are genetically programmed for health. You are not born into this world to become sick and diseased. It is only because of your moving away from your natural state and nature that you have become less than abundantly healthy and vital. We have become so enamored with ourselves and our technological advances that we have somehow forgotten that we are animals. We are mammals and subject to the same physical laws of health and disease as every other species. We think it is okay to pollute our environment and our bodies with toxic chemicals. We think that we can genetically modify the foods we eat and alter the human genetic code. We have somehow accepted that injecting our children with chemicals such as formaldehyde, aluminum, thimerisol, and the genetic material of other species is a good idea. When it comes down to it, we have allowed our educated brains to trick us into thinking they are smarter than the innate intelligence that runs our bodies and knows more about our inner workings than we can ever hope to.

All this because we have turned our backs on nature and our intuition. Does any of that actually sound logical? But this is only the tip of the iceberg, the Pandora’s Box that if you choose to open, will forever change your perception of reality and create a shift in your paradigm.

And that is exactly what has to happen. Your current mindset has brought you to exactly where you are at this moment. Not your parents, not your spouse and not your boss or anyone else for that matter. Your reality is a mirror of your current thoughts and beliefs. Change your thoughts and you change your life. It’s as simple as that.

"Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos. Before a brilliant person begins something great, they must look foolish in the crowd."

From the I Ching

Well…not quite that simple but it is absolutely where we need to begin. Decide today that you are going to be healthy and happy the rest of your life and proclaim it to yourself, your loved ones, and anyone else that will listen…or not. It does not matter if others believe you. It doesn’t even matter if they think you are crazy, kooky or just plain nuts. As long as you allow other people’s perceptions of what you say and do to run your life you will constantly be living according to their paradigms and produce their results. True brilliance occurs when we have the courage to live our lives according to our own values and in accordance with our individual purpose and passion. As you proclaim it and believe that it is yours it will begin to take shape in your life. And when you are no longer afraid to look foolish in the crowd you have mastered your life!

What about your emotional state? Are you happy? Do you wake up excited about the day or are you working for the weekend like so many of your neighbors? How have we become convinced that if we are feeling a little down all we need to do is change our brain chemistry with a little pill? Why has depression and anxiety become so common place? If this sounds familiar you don’t have to accept it any longer.

It is your absolute right to be happy. To achieve anything and everything in this lifetime and allow others to do the same as long as no one is harmed in the process. So why aren’t you? Because somebody at some point told you otherwise. Perhaps it was your mother or father, teacher or preacher. Some authority figure in your life that somehow convinced you that you do not already possess everything inside to pursue your life’s purpose and mission. Maybe you heard someone tell you that “Life isn’t fair.” Or that suffering was somehow virtuous. Whatever the case may be, you are only unhappy because you are not living in alignment with your soul. You are living a life that is not what you came into this world intending to do. When you come into perfect alignment with your purpose and passion you will find your happiness and need no person or possessions to make you happy.

Perfect Health

Transformation occurs only when we can hold the thought and vision of what we truly desire. So many people want to lose weight, stop drinking, quit smoking, etc. However, the very thing they are repelling is continually attracted over and over again. Saying "No" to that extra serving is the same as saying "Yes." As long as the action has a perceived benefit, then taking it away will always be difficult and doing it will be a reward for good behavior. Instead we need to focus on what we do want. Only then can we attract the people, places and circumstances to allow us to make the transformation we are seeking.

To attract perfect health we must wish it to be so. You can eat the right foods and get enough rest and exercise but still have poor health unless the mind is on board. Our thoughts create our realities and set in motion a cascade of physiological reactions within our bodies. Negative emotions create a stress response that builds ourselves sick. Positive emotions and affirmations have the opposite effect. Start with your mind. Focus on what you want. And watch as you life transforms.

Who Took Your Health?

The majority of Americans have been raised in a healthcare system that robs us of our divinely granted birthright as soon as we take our first breath. Our children’s bodies are probed, prodded, injected, and given antibiotics at the earliest of ages. The message? We need things from the outside to protect our insides … that we were not created perfectly but instead are flawed and weak. We are taught fear instead of certainty, reliance instead of empowerment. What we are not told is that health and wellbeing are an intrinsic quality of all living things. Our natural state is one of constantly striving for balance and homeostasis. Our innate ability to heal is an amazing quality that should be cherished. So if we agree that being in an optimum state of health is normal and our bodies are constantly seeking that point, why are we so sick? Heart disease, cancer, autoimmune diseases. The people that succumb to these diseases have the same ability to heal as anyone yet they have had their health taken from them. But how can an innate healing capacity be taken from us? The truth is that the majority of our society has simply given it away. We have given away the responsibility for guarding, cultivating and strengthening our own health and the health of our families. Instead we have placed our trust in sickness care and mega-corporations that have anything but your health and wellbeing on their agenda. We abate symptoms and suppress our immune systems. We remove organs rather than replenish our systems. We have turned our backs on our innate ability to heal and now rely on technology to survive. I declare that we were designed to flourish, not simply survive. To survive means to endure or continue to exist. Existence is not the goal of life. If that were so we would have no need for the Mona Lisa, Beethoven, baseball, or religion.

I come from a philosophy that tells us that cancer is not caused by a shortage of chemotherapy or radiation, that uteruses were not made to last only forty years and that cholesterol is harmless and plays an essential role in many biochemical processes. So why have we become so willing to give up our parts and inject poison into our veins? The blame does not lie with the sickness model of healthcare or Big Pharma. It is pointless to attack medicine and the pharmaceutical corporations. They are simply supplying a demand. Remove the demand and we remove the supply from the marketplace. Simple economics. So don’t point fingers or place blame. Instead, empower and educate yourself and take back the responsibility and right to perfect health.
